First Things First - Ken Galrand's design manifesto

First Things First is a manifesto from 1964 written by Ken Garland (British graphic designer, photographer, writer and educator) and signed by several dozen well-known personalities from the creative industry. The artists agreed that encouraging consumerism is not the right direction for artists who, as educated and creative people, should direct their energy towards worthwhile causes.

My graphic development of the manifesto, which despite the passage of time still seems to remain current, consists of two parts - a poster and a sheet that folds into a folder. To highlight the most important fragments of the text, I gave them dynamics and elements that attract attention but do not distract from the text. The use of only black and white was intentional, it was to draw attention to the fact that in advertising we do not always need flashy messages, and important content will defend itself, with only a little help.
